While I was on holiday in lanzerotte I suffered a brain hemorrhage in October 2004 which resulted in me being in a coma for 13 weeks. This left me paralysed on the right side of my body.
Now being wheelchair bound, over the next 2 years I regained some of the feeling in my right arm but nothing at all in my right leg.
But in the summer of 2007 I started to get some feeling back in my right leg. My son Steve Cole (personal trainer at fitness first Berkhamsted) who helps with my home-care eventually persuaded me to come to fitness first and try some personal training with him.
The results with Steve were amazing, my leg hadn’t moved for 3 years and all doctors told me there was no hope but now I can extend my leg with weights attached, sit up and get out of bed, get dressed, stand up and even walk 200 yards on my zimmer frame!! My next goal is to walk unassisted this summer.
I would like to thank Steve for giving my life back to me and for the look of shock on my husbands face when he saw me walk again for the first time!!
